Mission & History

I’m Tony Dillard, founder of Nocona Marketing, and according to my mom, Dixie Yeargin, I’ve been in sales since birth. As a kid, I’d tag along with my dad, Albert Dillard, at the savings & loan, then make my way to the surrounding businesses, shaking hands and saying hello. My neighborhood got the same treatment—I was always out introducing myself and making connections.

One of the first people to recognize my knack for business was James Spinks, owner of the Texaco gas station in Burkburnett, TX, the town where I grew up. He saw something in me early on and gave me one of my first jobs—probably more for my enthusiasm than my experience.

My first real sales job was selling bottled water for Sparkletts in Wichita Falls, TX. One of my Sparkletts customers saw potential in me and recruited me to sell long-term care insurance door-to-door in the mid-'90s—and I loved it. The first policy I ever sold was to my grandmother, Momma Rose Yeargin, who also became my first claim paid. That moment solidified my belief in the industry and set the course for the next 24 years.

Over those years, I worked across every facet of the insurance world—from agent recruiting at American Independent Marketing, to Chief Marketing Officer at Republic Marketing Group (now Broadtower), to VP of Sales at Transamerica Long Term Care, and even mergers & acquisitions project management at Integrity.

But in 2015, I needed a change. With the help of a longtime friend and past co-worker, Kim Purnell, I founded Nocona Marketing, a website design and digital marketing agency. It was a new chapter, but at its core, it was still about helping businesses grow through smart, strategic marketing.

The name Nocona holds deep meaning for me. It’s the town where my mother and father grew up, met, and eventually married—officiated by my grandfather, Bill Yeargin, the city manager of Nocona. But beyond personal ties, Nocona has a rich history.

One of my favorite Audible books, Empire of the Summer Moon by S.C. Gwynne, details the rise and fall of the Comanche Nation, particularly the story of Quanah Parker, the last Comanche chief. His father, Chief Peta Nocona, inspired the name of the town in 1887, suggested by a Texas Ranger. The town, the history, and the name itself just felt right for my company—bold, strong, and rooted in something bigger.

At Nocona Marketing, we bring that same resilience, strategy, and craftsmanship to every website we build and every marketing campaign we create. Whether you’re a small business looking to grow or an established company in need of a fresh digital presence, we’re here to make it happen.

Let’s build something great—together.
